The ‘LIVE’ Ones

Just going to do a little bit of inspirational and motivational today. No crazy revelation, no deep scripture insight (although I think there still is), but definitely will give you that “hmmm” moment.

Okay! So, you ever wondered why it’s been so tough on you? Why as a believer, it seems as though you’re battled against on every side? Why matters just keep arising every bit of the journey? Well, I’ve got a simple answer to that. You’re ALIVE! And no, I don’t mean being alive because you’re breathing in oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide. I mean, you’re alive by reason of your life in Christ Jesus.

You have to understand that your being alive is the reason why you’re still facing all of these tribulations. Dead people don’t have issues, do they? They are just lying still-dead. No problems. But when there’s life, then it’s sure that you’ll still face certain difficulties.

I believe it was Joseph Prince who gave the illustration of a hunter (a personality of the devil) who shoots at two birds. One ended up dead, and the other injured, but alive, fluttering on the floor. Now, the question is…which bird do you think the hunter would go for first? The dead one? or the one that’s still alive? The answer is definitely going to be unanimously the live one. The dead one can’t do anything. It’s dead. It’s going to remain there till tomorrow if the hunter decides to leave it there till tomorrow. But the other one can definitely escape.

“But hey, we’re not a people running away from the devil or just a bird that he can shoot out of the sky. But there are times he does get to us. Sometimes through our feelings, sometimes tries to bring down our faith. But, that all he can ever do. Try!” Because…

2 Corinthians  4:6-11

For God, who commanded the LIGHT to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, YET NOT DISTRESSED; we are perplexed, BUT NOT IN DESPAIR; Persecuted, BUT NOT FORSAKEN; cast down, BUT NOT DESTROYED; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

You see, being alive can be likened to having the light. Oh sorry. Scratch that. We do not just have the light. We are the light! And if there’s one thing that I know about the light, it’s that it attracts. The light in darkness attracts all kinds of stuff. Both those that are coming to have their shelter beside it and those that are trying to put out the light. But I’ve come to understand also, that the light is not just giving light, the light is also a weapon, defending itself. The devil can come up against us in every manner, but we are not destroyed, because WE ARE THE LIGHT. The light is given for projection, and also for protection. It’s our weapon. Even though, it puts us at the center of the spotlight, to be subjected to all kinds of ridicule, hey! know this; WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS! We don’t back down.

The stuffs we face and go through confirm one thing; WE ARE ALIVE, WE ARE DANGEROUS AND WE ARE A THREAT.

Amen.
